Award Details
Selected oral and poster presentations by students will be adjudged for the Best Student Presentation Awards, sponsored by OSI, Optica and others.
The Optical Society of India (OSI) has instituted Best Thesis Awards. Up to three outstanding Ph.D. theses will be awarded, with each award carrying a Certificate and a cash prize of ₹10,000.
For this Symposium, applicants who have defended their Ph.D. thesis between July 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026 are eligible to apply for the award.
- Cover letter mentioning the award(s) for which the application is being made
- A two-page summary of the Ph.D. thesis work
- A list of publications resulting from the thesis
- An endorsement letter from the Ph.D. supervisor supporting the nomination
Submission Deadline: All required documents must be sent directly to the Chairs at iitdphotonics@gmail.com by August 31, 2026.
All entries will be evaluated by a panel. Selected applicants will be required to make a presentation during a designated session at the Symposium.
The final selection of the best theses will be based on the quality of the thesis and the presentation made at the Symposium.
