JOINTLY ORGANIZED BY INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY DELHI (IITD) AND CSIR-NATIONAL PHYSICAL LABORATORY (CSIR-NPL)
FOP2026, the 49th annual symposium of the Optical Society of India, is being hosted jointly by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) and CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL). The symposium will serve as a platform for scientists, engineers, researchers, and students to exchange ideas, while also offering manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers an opportunity to showcase their products and services.

The Optical Society of India (OSI)
Founded in 1965, the Optical Society of India (OSI) grew from a small group of dedicated members into a prominent scientific society. It has hosted annual national and international symposia for over four decades. The society began publishing the Bulletin of Optics in 1968, which became the Journal of Optics in 1972 and has been co-published with Springer since 2009.
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi)

CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL)

It is responsible for establishing and maintaining national measurement standards and advancing precision measurement science. NPL plays a vital role in scientific research, calibration services, and technological development across multiple domains, including optical metrology & photonics.
Optics and Photonics Centre (OPC), IIT Delhi
The Optics and Photonics Centre (OPC) at IIT Delhi is a specialized research center dedicated to advancing fundamental & applied research in optics and photonics. The centre promotes interdisciplinary collaboration across departments and actively supports innovation in areas such as Lasers and waveguide optics, ultrafast optics, Quantum Photonics, Optical Engineering, imaging, sensing, & biophotonics.
